Maintaining site continuity through the implementation of procurement and access strategies
To ensure continuous work onsite, Chalouhi proactively identified risks in both the procurement process for pile cages and site access constraints. Access to site was maintained throughout the construction process through the creation of a 2000m2 temporary access road, allowing 12,000m3 of material to be transported off-site prior to piling activities. Chalouhi used all-weather concrete access for trucks to ensure project continuity during any weather events. We also mitigated procurement risks by sourcing pile cages from Melbourne, ensuring no delays to the project.
Comprehensive dust-management initiatives resulting from stakeholder collaboration
Chalouhi actively communicated with The Hills Shire Council to understand concerns and proactively manage disturbances to the area surrounding the project site. The Council expressed concerns regarding dust management so Chalouhi employed two 60m water cannons and positioned five pressure washers around the perimeter to create a controlled environment and contain dust.
Regular dust monitoring ensured compliance with regulations, resulting in no harmful dust quantities escaping the premises.
